Unit 4

1.)     I found the exercise of Loving Kindness to be great, very relaxing exercise with the sound of the ocean puts you in a relaxed and calm effect. I found this to be a very well exampled to use for anyone who's stress or someone who generally is just suffering from trying to express how to love and express kindness towards other people such as family, co-workers. It's really an exercise that would be very beneficial if someone has lost a loved one & is suffering from the lost of that loved one in their lives, this is the type of exercise to use for to help them from grief.

2.)   A mental workout concept is dealing with having a constant focus and gives the mind an opportunity to expand and to transcend positive thoughts in the mind on a day to day basis, to remain in the zone to have full mental clarity and consciousness to remain calm and peaceful. This is a great plan for anyone to use on a daily basis and anyone should use this routine in day to day life.

  1. Hi John,

I like that you added that this exercise is beneficial for people who have lost loved ones and are going through the grieving process. I agree with you and appreciate your insight on this. It is too common that people begin to not take care of themselves very well when they lose a loved one and practicing something like loving-kindness could work to reverse that. Awesome!

  2. Hi John,

I agree with your comment that this exercise would help someone who is grieving. I really thought this exercise to be beneficial because love is supposed to be infinite, but its not. This exercise showed me how much mine isn't and is usually only reserved for my close family and friends. I did not have a hard time expressing this love to strangers and even enemies, but I knew it was something foreign to me, and would take a bit of practice for me to do it on my own. Do you think it helped you in this aspect also?
