Unit 10

In reviewing my Unit 3 personal assessment of my psychological, physical and spiritual well being there are some things that have stayed and others that I feel I have increased in knowledge and thus applied a conscious focus on making changes.

Psychological well being an 9. I have confidence in my opinions, even if they are contrary to the general consensus, I feel that it's important to have new experiences, trusting relationships with others and that I'm concerned about the welfare of others; I feel that I'm capable of giving strong empathy, affection to others & that I have a goal in life. I plan to apply more steps in using the five guiding principles to explore an integral approach to mental health, especially training my mind”. I would say this has remained status though my timing in mediation has increased, and my outlook in daily interactions has become focused on my well-being.

My spiritual well-being I had before was a 7. I feel that I've improved in this and can now say I'm at an level 8 I feel that focusing on looking more deeply and remembering that “Prayer is communication with the Absolute” (Schlitz, Amorok, & Micozzi, 2005) can help increase my rating and my spiritual wholeness.

My physical well being i rated myself a 10. I still feel that. I am still exercising regularly the programs and steps I've improved for myself and have gained.. I spent much needed time evaluating the issues that have held me back, and what I will do to further instill the goals I have put into place.

Spiritually before i had mention I wanted to explore and learn more with other cultures ways. This course has really made me more interested in other cultural spiritual exercises besides the Westernized approaches.

Psychologically- I had stated I wanted to practice the relaxation & meditation exercises, and to better skill of moving my blood from one area to another- as we read in the Schlitz, Amorok, and Micozzi text, this is helpful in more ways than one. “The mind can actually move blood as an aid to surgeons, the mind can alter bodily conditions to make breech conversions more likely, the mind can through meditation and visualization can quicken the results of standard therapy."
I have increased utilize in mind and body techniques. Yes, I do feel that I've implemented my well-being  I have indeed implemented activities for well being in each of the three areas. I am growing in training the mind- though meditation and through physical exercise. I am learning about eastern philosophy.I am embracing the moments of life and making cognitive choices with my time and life.

This has been a wonderful course to be in as it has made me a better person and I hope to implement and continue using these skills everyday in my life.

Unit 9 post

I.)  The reason that it's important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically. Well,Professionals have a duty to full fill for their patients needs & wants as well as incorporate new approaches of health and healing & having an open mind with various ideologies for patients. A professional must also implement integral health techniques if they fully want to heal a patient as well. The professional themselves must become involved with the transform process,we change ourselves as well if different medicine is being practiced with. The areas that are needed to develop and achieve the goals are a blueprint for providing a  holistic and integrated approach to health. The approach of the holistic, evolutionary, intentional, person-centered, and dynamic principles provide an understanding of  the mind & body medicine. Spiritual-wise a professional may need to be a well diverse person to have a personal benefit with themselves while in the health field & being diverse in thinking with the mind, body & spirit as it will make them become more confident in themselves as well as being on the same level with their patients. A professional doesn't have to be a bodybuilder but having a good physical shape is more ideal to have especially being in the health field. A professional can give information having the mind knowledge to a patient, but people see visualization first more times than they listen to in life.

II.)  I do feel that my spiritually may need to be boosted up to an 8 but as of now My spiritual well-being I'd give it a 7. I'm generally the type of person that I'll consider who's a helper to someone. I'm always giving advice to friends who're going through rough times in their lives. I feel that spiritual well being for myself because I do take the time to reflect and try resolve any issues that may occur, and maintain balance and control of life. I think spiritually personally is not only growing within yourself but growing within your mind as well, so as we mature in age our personal aspects of enhance our spiritual growth grows as well. My physical rating I feel has increased to a 9 now. I've bumped my workout days to 5 days a week now, I've integrated more training days of working out and lifting weights and I still use a variety of workout focus formulas to keep my drive going while working out. My mental state I feel I've improved to a 9 I feel that the use of the subtle mind techniques in combination with physical exercise and the use of the mind and body methods with the use of conscious approach has enhanced my mind to stay more focused.

III.) My physical goal is to make personal goals in the gym or at home for myself by lifting heavier and gaining more strength and size for myself and maybe even increase my endurance of cardio as I've kinda slumped somewhat with cardio. I would say that my psychological goal is to incorporate more subtle mind techniques as I've grown mentally I want to pursue and maintain focus. As Dacher states if we attend to our inner experience , we begin to transform what is ordinary health into a integral health,” as well as purchase new material & information to continue our efforts in integral health (Dacher, 2006, pg 71). My spiritual goal is to continue to grow and learn more about other spiritual techniques & to continue with other practices. For my mental state I would like to continue using mind and meditation techniques such as transfer my mental attitude inward as well as progress with deeper and inner development and healing the mind mental and even physical.

IV.) My growth for my physical is to make personal goals for myself as well as continue to use mediation techniques to enhance my breathing techniques during exercise as well as increase my workout days from 5 days to 6 days a week as well as using the calm abide method to keep my overall attitude calm and learning to enhance my growth. For psychological I'd like to improve and continue to concentrate and train with the mind still & to just sustain having a good mental health. Spiritual wise I can go by using different techniques such as the ways of the Tibetan or even the Navajo and trying to come over resentment and frustration to help with healing the mind.

V.) I feel that I will continue to complete my goals as well as evaluate the situation first off before it begins and also try to establish and continue to set new goals for myself and go by using a variety of different processes with different principals learned and setting more goals for health and wellness.

unit 8

I actually feel that all of the practices we've learned from this course have been beneficial, though the practices I would personally feel more connected to were the subtle mind, and meditation. Utlize certain breathing techniques while maintaining a firm concentration & focus on my focal point helps the mind respond while helping mental activity settle down, gradually ease up on your breath, you will notice that you are spending more time witnessing your mental activity and less time uncontrollably immersed. The practice basically helps teach stability and is the ground for us in life. I feel that it's a really good practice to use to relax in those quiet moments.

I feel that meditation has helped out very much as well as it help eliminate any negative thoughts and it helps you open up to the more positive thoughts and emotions in life as well as helping the mind feel free and experience an ultimate well-being. Loving kindness enhances with mental and psychological while helping with physical well being by help out with flourish the body and mind. I'm glad that i've taken this course to enhance my mind to a limitness amount of effects that I thought weren't even possible to imagine.

Unit 7

I found that the mindness and meditation has set a profound increase in my psychological mood by defined mindfulness and meditation has fostered an increase in my psychological and spiritual wellness by stabilizing my breathing which has stabilized my mind and a calm abiding unity conscious to allow inner freedom of which gives better concentration. It has a way of cleansne my mind and enlighten my soul and heightens my immune system against negative emotions or distress in which may cause disease of the mind and body. As Dacher states” We are healthy when our mind is both free of mental afflictions and suffering and when we experience an enduring well-being , happiness and wholeness that is independent of our biology and outer circumstances”

2.) Describe the saying: "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” (P.477) how does this apply to the health and wellness professional? Do you have an obligation to your clients to be developing your health psychologically, physically, and spiritually? Why or why not? How can you implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life?

It's basically being explained as a person or person's cannot lead another without knowing where one has gone themselves or to influence the use of  practices to transform. This applies to the health and wellness professional by being aware of patients needs and service. The way this can be formed is by  psychologically and spiritually by ways under the integral model. Evolving and transforming our minds.

unit 6

I found that the exercise for loving kindness tends to give the sense of ease the mind and body through our capacity a sense of expanding our knowledge and spreading sensitivity and generosity to all our relationships with people, family in life. Interpersonal flourishing isn't only essentially dealing with your own personal issues in life but to help ourselves and others around us to bring out and give compassion and love for others and love from the heart which is something that is really lacking in the world as well as finding health and happiness for oneself and others. The Integral Assessment made me see various areas of my life and the levels of development to improve on such as forming a stronger development of psychologically, spiritually, and interpersonal as well as finding about oneself and finding what one can generally give out to this world, i think meditation or yoga would be great way to keep the mind at ease.

Unit 5

1.)    The loving kindness technique in contrast to the subtle mind technique is different in visualizing a loved one who is now suffering” giving them care, love and kindness, and thus welcoming the loving kindness into our own hearts and letting it disappear.( Dacher, 2006). The Subtle mind technique tends to generally focus more so on breathing techniques in which the mind responds and it’s mental activity quiets down,( Dacher 2006, p75) Focus is dealing with stabilizing the mind & not attempting to connect with it in any sort or kind of disconnection to eliminate mind chatter and observe the witnessing mind and to remain concentrated. I found that during the exercise I was able to relax and settle my mind to focus by just staying relaxed, this is a great exercise for those who're involved with yogi as well. The loving kindness is more so used to express how one can open and express our heart, mind, and soul to others in the world.

2.) The general connection between both are that spiritual wellness is to mental and physical wellness as a fundamental in living a life of sustained health happiness and wholeness for ourselves and humankind ( Dacher, 2006, p.32) . The spiritual wellness is central to the choices we make in our lives and in our physical wellness. The mind is connected to the body. The connection has generally helped me with making the right health & lifestyle goals for myself and just maintain to keep my focus with finishing school. The spiritual wellness helps with making the right choices of socially with friends in life.

Unit 4

1.)     I found the exercise of Loving Kindness to be great, very relaxing exercise with the sound of the ocean puts you in a relaxed and calm effect. I found this to be a very well exampled to use for anyone who's stress or someone who generally is just suffering from trying to express how to love and express kindness towards other people such as family, co-workers. It's really an exercise that would be very beneficial if someone has lost a loved one & is suffering from the lost of that loved one in their lives, this is the type of exercise to use for to help them from grief.

2.)   A mental workout concept is dealing with having a constant focus and gives the mind an opportunity to expand and to transcend positive thoughts in the mind on a day to day basis, to remain in the zone to have full mental clarity and consciousness to remain calm and peaceful. This is a great plan for anyone to use on a daily basis and anyone should use this routine in day to day life.
